To meet the costs, a subsidy can be requested from the province of Drenthe. Since April 1, 2023, besides sheep and goat farmers, other ungulate farmers (horses, alpacas) can also apply for a subsidy. For other ungulate farmers this scheme works retroactively from October 3, 2022 .
