Measure 28: Combine reinforcement and insulation measures (Nij Begun)

On April 25, 2023, the Cabinet presented its response to the Parliamentary Inquiry into Natural Gas Production Groningen (PEAG). One of the cabinet's measures was Measure 28: we will make homes that still need substantial reinforcement gas-free-ready.

Insulating your home to the insulation standard

For some of the homes yet to be reinforced, this means that National Coordinator Groningen (NCG) can combine reinforcement with insulating measures. Advantages of this combination are:

  • You are only inconvenienced by construction work once.
  • Insulation measures can lower your energy bills.
  • The insulation measures also allow you to make your home natural gas-free during or after the reinforcement. Making your home natural gas-free does have to be paid for by you.

We only include insulation measures during reinforcement if you want us to. You can also choose not to insulate your home or to insulate it later. For example, by using the ISDE subsidy scheme: Investment subsidy for renewable energy and energy conservation, or measure 29: Insulation subsidy for homeowners in Groningen and North Drenthe.

Is your home in NCG's reinforcement program? And are you not eligible for measure 28? Then you can make use of measure 29. This is an insulation subsidy for homeowners in Groningen and North Drenthe. For more information, visit measure 29.
